This villa in Mauritius is pure paradise. So it’s no wonder that the owners decided to transform it from holiday home to main family home. Everything about it shouts opulence. Kuster was given carte blanche on the interiors and wanted to create a balance between all-out luxury resort and down-to-earth beachside villa.
The Moroccan-inspired pool house is one of the most impressive spaces, lit by intricate handmade lanterns that hang from the vaulted wooden ceiling. These, in juxtaposition with the rich red and gold accessories and deep brown furniture, conjure up images of an exotic Bedouin tent. It’s the perfect place to cozy up after a midnight swim on a starry night. The main house is built around the pool and features everything one would expect at a boutique hotel, from the gym, to the plush bar, decked out in purple velvets and satins, to the eight bedrooms with their serene neutral and all-white palettes.
